The Austrian healthcare system faces very significant challenges. In addition to an explosion in costs, there is a huge and constantly increasing need for qualified nursing staff. According to estimates by the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (2024), Austria will need at least 80,000 qualified nursing staff by 2030. Many experts even assume that there will be a need for 200,000 qualified nursing staff by 2050.

  • This enormous demand for qualified nursing staff cannot be met by the Austrian labor market. The other European countries as well as the countries of North America (USA and Canada) also struggle with a major shortage of qualified nursing staff, which is why qualified nursing staff from these countries are not available at all or only in very insufficient quantities.

  • A very similar situation exists in several Arab and Asian countries such as Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore and Japan. This has led to massive global competition for qualified nursing staff. Due to the high educational standards and the required knowledge of the German language, potential Austrian employers have a significant competitive disadvantage, which can only be partially offset by a high quality of life, social security, etc.

  • The Austrian Federal Government has identified India, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Brazil as those countries, which are due to their size of population, their good educational standards, and a certain cultural proximity to Austria very well suited to meet the future demand for qualified nursing staff. However, qualified nursing staff from other countries such as Colombia or Vietnam are highly demanded as well.

India, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Brazil have very good education programs for qualified health and nursing professionals (Bachelor's degree). In some of these countries, the education program for qualified health and nursing professional lasts five years (Austria: three years), from which one full year must be completed as practical training in a hospital. In addition, in some of these countries qualified health and nursing professionals must take an official state examination to be entitled to practice their profession.

  • These four countries have several thousand graduates with a Bachelor's degree in health and nursing every year. Many of these graduates are ready to build a future for themselves or their families in Europe or North America. However, these graduates are heavily courted by a large number of local and international agencies as well as potential employers.

  • Besides these graduates, each of these countries has tens of thousands of active and working health and nursing professionals. Many of them are in principle interested in improving their professional and private lives (higher salary, social security, long-term professional perspective, living in a safe country, stable future for the whole family, etc.).

  • Life Concepts & Generations has up to three cooperation partners in each of these countries. Some of these cooperation partners have up to 40 years of experience in recruiting qualified workers and nursing staff. They have committed themselves to ethical and moral recruitment of qualified workers and nursing staff, they work highly professionally, and they have excellent networks.

We in particular offer to potential employers the following services:
